Standard Dose
Much like matcha, kale and quinoa, CBD oil has enjoyed a stratospheric rise into public consciousness. Particularly in cities like New York and Los Angeles, where CBD shots can be added to your cold-pressed juice or purchased at your neighbourhood bodegas, it’s hard to know where a measure of quality starts and ends.
Thankfully at Standard Dose, a stylish one-stop shop located in Manhattan’s Nomad district, there are answers for all of your general CBD needs. The products that fill its earthy pink interior not only range from ingestibles, like CBD tinctures that target sleep, anxiety or pain, refreshing beverages and hemp-infused honeys, but also includes face serums (CBD can be used to calm skin inflammations like eczema and acne), pain creams and body sprays to counter chronic aches and pains. Standard Dose’s own scentless and tasteless tincture combines 1000mg of CBD isolate with MCT oil and 0% THC, that adapts to one’s body chemistry. It can be taken sublingually or drizzled into coffee, salad dressing or over avocado toast, naturally.
In addition to its retail boutique, Standard Dose aims to be a home for CBD-infused wellness as a whole. Tucked behind its chic retail space, founder Anthony Saniger has installed a tea bar, serving custom blends of detox, healing and immunity-boosting teas, alongside a meditation studio where guided meditation and yoga sessions can be booked, with the option of adding a dose of its CBD tincture to your practice as well. Equipped with comfy cushions and a therapeutic skylight installation that mimics the natural patterns and intensities of light, according to the different times of day, the restorative environment is designed to reduce stress, heighten emotional wellbeing and enhance one’s cognitive functions. The space also hosts a programme of educational workshops and community events to help decode and demystify the benefits of CBD, along with yoga classes that are held on the space’s outdoor roof.
What’s more, Standard Dose’s three-floor space will soon unveil a spa on its basement level, where facials, massages and other body treatments utilising CBD-based products will be offered. In the crowded, largely un-moderated arena of CBD, Standard Dose’s succinct proposition is a manageable sight for sore eyes.
